The faded, slightly stretched fabric of the “Official Magoo Hobo Frogs 2025 T Shirt Sweater” felt like a time machine against my skin. 2025. It was supposed to be the year we all conquered the world, or at least graduated college with a clear plan. Instead, it was the year of mismatched internships, questionable ramen diets, and the unwavering belief that our band, the Magoo Hobo Frogs, was going to make it big.
The memory flooded back: late-night jam sessions in Sarah’s basement, fuelled by cheap beer and even cheaper pizza. The sheer audacity of naming ourselves the Magoo Hobo Frogs, a name that sounded both ridiculous and strangely profound to our twenty-year-old ears. We’d designed this shirt ourselves, a frog wearing a tiny hobo bindle on a stick, inexplicably playing a banjo.
Seeing it now, years later, a wave of bittersweet nostalgia washed over me. We never made it big, of course. Life happened, paths diverged.
